# Ollama Library API

> Unofficial JSON API for every model in the Ollama library (https://ollama.com/library?sort=newest). Refreshed hourly, newest first. No key, CORS open.

## Endpoints

- `GET /api/models`: all models, newest first. Returns `{ source, fetched_at, count, models[] }`.
  - `?q=llama`: search name and description.
  - `?capability=tools`: filter by capability (`tools`, `vision`, `thinking`, `embedding`, ...).
  - `?cloud=true` or `?cloud=false`: cloud-only or local-only models.
  - Filters combine: `/api/models?capability=tools&cloud=false`.
- `GET /api/models/{name}`: one model, 404 if unknown, with `tag_details` (every tag) and `tags_fetched_at`. Example: `/api/models/d3`.

## Model fields

- `name`: model name as used with `ollama pull`.
- `url`: page on ollama.com.
- `description`: short description.
- `capabilities`: e.g. `["vision", "tools", "thinking"]`.
- `sizes`: parameter sizes, e.g. `["2b", "4b", "9b"]`. Empty for some models.
- `cloud`: true if available as an Ollama cloud model.
- `pulls`: approximate pull count (integer), `pulls_label`: as shown on ollama.com.
- `tags`: number of tags, or null when not shown.
- `updated_at`: ISO 8601 timestamp, `updated_label`: relative label like "yesterday".
- `size_bytes`: download in bytes of each size and `latest`, e.g. `{"latest": 6600000000, "4b": 3300000000}`. Null until the model's tags page is read (every few minutes, a few dozen models at a time); empty for cloud-only models and models with only variant tags (see `tag_details`).

## Tag fields (`tag_details`, one model only)

- `tag`: e.g. `4b`, `4b-q8_0`, `latest`. `digest`: short digest; tags with the same digest are the same build.
- `size_bytes`: what `ollama pull` downloads; `size_bytes_max`: a larger variant (MLX) when ollama.com shows a range, else the same. Null for cloud tags.
- `context`: context window in tokens (`256K` = 262144).
- `input`: e.g. `["text", "image"]`. `cloud`: a cloud tag. `updated_label`: e.g. "2 weeks ago".
